2021 Goodreads Choice Award Nominees

The nominees for the 2021 Goodreads Choice Awards were announced this morning!

For anyone who doesn't use it, Goodreads is a website that helps readers track, rate, and review the books they've read, look up authors and books, and can serve as a social media platform for readers.

Every year they host the Goodreads Choice Awards, which showcases some of the most popular books that have come out each year — and readers are the judges.

There are 17 categories of books to vote in this year, including genres in adult fiction, young adult fiction, nonfiction, and children's books.

BPL doesn't own all of the books that have been nominated this year, but we always make sure to purchase the winners when voting is complete, if we don't already own that title.

The first round of voting is open until Nov. 28. The "Final Round" of voting is open from Nov. 30 to Dec. 5, with a narrowed down pool of books. Then the winners will be announced on Dec. 9.

If you're interested in voting, you must have a Goodreads account, which is free to sign up for. If you don't want an account, you can still follow along the awards on Goodreads, or check back with this blog for updates and find some popular book recommendations along the way!
